Photojournalism Assignment: Part 2

  1. It's too bad you had battery issues with your own camera, because the class cameras have serious limitations at a distance and with poor lighting. The gym lights make it very hard to get a crisp focus.

    I see that you paid a lot of attention to the rule of thirds when cropping, but there are a couple of other design issues to consider. In photo 1, John Lawson, the remnant of lettering on the table cloth at the bottom is distracting. It should have been completely chopped out.

    Similar issue for Marty Burke. There is a yellow line from the edge of the stage. If it was removed leaving just a neutral grey and white balance, it would be improved.

    For Frank Valeriote I think I would crop the right side to the edge of the table to create better balance. The hand gesture is great, and if it was a highly quality image I would show you how to remove the glasses glare.

    You took good advantage of this experience. Well done.
