Photojournalism Assignment: Part 1

What rules do you think news photographers should live by? Why do you think having a code of ethics is necessary?

I think that news photographers should follow and live by every rule stated in the article. When it comes to celebrities, it seems as though too many lines are crossed and many of these rules are broken. Privacy is a big issue in this area of photography. I think that photojournalists should ask permission before publishing a photo so that the person photographed does not feel violated. This is also why having a code of ethics is necessary. Taking pictures at inappropriate times or when the person is unaware that they are being photographed is unethical. Also, a situation such as the one talked about in class where a person may be dying is a time where it would be unethical to take a picture. The code of ethics as well as common sense photography rules  should be followed more closely.

  1. Taylor, clearly you have a good grasp of the issues related to photo ethics. Your response is clear and your language skills are perfect.

Congratulations on getting both parts of the task done so promptly. If you were a real reporter you would have met the publication deadlines and that's vital.

    Well done.

The next task is the Multicultural poster. I know you did one last semester, but I also know that you have improved your skills since then. do an upgrade.
